Following recommendations by Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director, Police Colonel Henry Biñas, calling for strict implementation of the city’s closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera ordinances, which were passed in 2012, City Councilor Al Espino, who chairs the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Police, said he will propose an amendment to the policies and seek better quality equipment.
He said CCTV surveillance is dependent on technology and, at that time the ordinances were passed, the pixel count for regular units was low.
“We will amend the ordinance in order to put on better specifications,” the city official stated.
Meanwhile, Espino said he has set up a meeting with the BCPO director and various business groups in the city following two shooting incidents targeting businessmen./DGB, WDJ
