P7.1M in crop damage
recorded in Negros Occidental

The monsoon rains brought about by Tropical Storm Falcon has caused an estimated P7.1 million worth of crop damage in Negros Occidental.
Data forwarded by the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist showed San Enrique, Valladolid, and Bago City suffered from the storm’s onslaught.
A total of 399.50 hectares of farmland were damaged in Valladolid, causing damages estimated at P2.6 million and affected around 279 farmers. In neighboring San Enrique, 276.56 hectares of rice fields were reported damaged, valued around P1.5 million.
Meanwhile, Bago City estimated crop damages at P2.9 million with around 416.14 hectares of farmland affected./DGB, WDJ
