Two Negrenses join boys’ basketball team

Two basketball players from Negros Occidental will suit up for the Philippine boys’ basketball team, which is represented by National University, at the ongoing ASEAN School Games in Semarang, Indonesia. Silay City native Harold Alarcon and Reyland Torres of Bago City will be part of the team’s title defense.
Joining them on the team are Ilonggo point guard Gerry Abadian, Terrence Fortea, Carl Tamayo, Kevin Quiambao, Ernest Felicilda, Steve Nash Enriquez, Aaron Buensalida, Jeffry Mailim, and Ilonggo player Menard Songcuya.
The team is drawn in Group A with Singapore and Indonesia. The Philippines begins their campaign this weekend, facing Indonesia on Saturday and Singapore the following day./ASC, WDJ
