A buy-bust operation conducted in Bacolod City’s Barangay Banago yesterday afternoon yielded a total P1.2 million worth of suspected shabu.
Police identified the arrested suspects as 43-year-old Regina Oro and 23-year-old Sam Aguirre, both residents of Purok Bayanihan in the said barangay.
Bacolod City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit head, Police Lt. Colonel Leonardo Borromeo, said they arrested both suspects after they sold one sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover cop in exchange for P1,000.
During the deal, however, the suspects discovered they were dealing with a police officer and a short chase ensued.
The suspects attempted to escape by jumping into the sea but cops continued to give chase, which eventually led to their arrest.
Both suspects face illegal drugs charges and are presently detained at Police Station 3./DGB, WDJ
