The Meralco Bolts face a must-win game against the San Miguel Beermen today at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in their quest for a 2019 Honda PBA Commissioner’s Cup playoff berth. Currently holding a 3-7 win-loss record, a Bolts win would force a knockout game against the Alaska Aces on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Beermen also cannot afford a loss as they could drop as low as seventh place, where they would clash with the playoff’s second seed. However, a win would move them to fifth place, setting up a best-of-three quarterfinal series against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel if the Magnolia Hotshots loses to TNT KaTropa tonight.
A Magnolia win would put them in fifth place with a series with Barangay Ginebra.
For TNT, a win would clinch first place and a twice-to-beat advantage in their quarterfinal series./ASC, WDJ
