Following their 12-0 demolition of Philippine Air Force FC over the weekend in the ongoing 2019 Philippines Football League (PFL), Ceres-Negros FC is gunning for solo first place as they next face Global Makati FC today at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.
The Bacolod City-based club is currently tied on 19 points atop the PFL table with Kaya FC-Iloilo; however, with a superior goal difference and one game in hand, a win would earn the Negrense club sole possession of first place.
For Global Makati, they are coming off a 9-0 beating at the hands of Green Archers United.
In their previous meeting, Ceres thrashed Makati, 8-0, with midfielder Bienvenido Marañon leading the victory with a poker, scoring half the goals of the match. Also contributing to the win were striker Mahir Karić with a brace, alongside midfielder Mike Ott and defender Jeffrey Christiaens each adding one goal./ASC, WDJ
