Problems hound those who believe in the zodiac

“…So do not listen to your prophets, your diviners, your interpreters of dreams, your mediums or your sorcerers…” –Jeremiah 27:9

It’s quite odd. It would appear reporters ran out of news and decided to discuss Albay second district Rep. Joey Salceda evaluating the candidates for next house speaker based on their zodiac sign. According to a tweet from CNN Philippines, the congressman said Marinduque lone district Rep. Lord Allan Jay Velasco, Taguig-Pateros lone district Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano, and Leyte first district Rep. Martin Romualdez are all Scorpios, which he said means they are all good men.

Is Salceda not aware of God’s prohibition of astrological signs? Does he not know God will curse those who use them to predict the future?

From what I could gather, the legislator fully understands the Bible prohibits using the zodiac; although, if he is not a Christian, I can understand why he would make such statements.

People who believe in the zodiac may talk about it as a matter of fanfare surrounding knowledge of the subject; however, while they may argue the act does not disregard their belief in God, it runs counter to God’s commands.

As the Bible says in Deuteronomy 28:15-68: “God’s curses are to come upon those who disobey, even if they are very much aware or have knowledge of His commands, subjecting the violators to destruction and death.” Jesus, our God and Savior, who is God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, said the same thing in Matthew 7:26-27, noting, “People who listen to Him but do not obey His word are fools, who are deemed to have built their houses on the sand near the sea shore. When the rains, the floods and the strong winds came, their houses fell with a great crash, beyond recovery.

I pray this reaches Congressman Salceda.
