Chris McCullough delivered for the San Miguel Beermen in their 128-108 win over the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters earlier this week in the 2019 Honda PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. He led the team with a double-double on 37 points and 13 rebounds.
From an 18-all deadlock midway in the opening quarter, the Beermen slowly created distance on inside hits from June Mar Fajardo, Mccullough, and Christian Standhardinger for a 30-21 edge. Phoenix then attempted a run early in the second but the Beermen further pulled away with outside shots from Marcio Lassiter and Terrence Romeo for a 61-45 halftime edge.
The Beermen thwarted several rallies by the Fuel Masters in the second half and led by as much as 100-72 following a basket by Alex Cabagnot.
Fajardo also contributed to the win, offering up a double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds./ASC, WDJ
