Bacolod falls to San Juan in the Maharlika League

The Bacolod Master Sardines suffered a 95-71 loss to the San Juan Knights last Wednesday night in the ongoing Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) at the Olivarez College gymnasium in Parañaque City.
San Juan imposed its presence early on with John Wilson connecting three three-point conversions, pushing the reigning MPBL champions to an 18-8 edge. While the Bacolod City-based squad later managed to narrow the gap to single digits, triples by Jhonard Clarito extended San Juan’s lead to 50-38 at the half.
San Juan went on to control the remainder of the game, eventually gaining their widest lead of 24 points.
Wilson led the win with 22 points, including four triples; while Clarito chipped in 16 markers and nine boards.
Meanwhile, Jopher Custodio top-scored for Bacolod with 16 points, along with six rebounds; while Mark Tallo added 15 points, Haddi Porto – 14, and William Vasalo – 13./ASC, WDJ
