Creamline takes Game 1

The Creamline Cool Smashers took Game 1 of the 2019 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference best-of-three finals series last Wednesday after scoring a 24-26, 25-16, 25-16, 25-22 win over the PetroGazz Angels at the San Juan Arena.
Kuttika Kaewpin led the win with 21 points, including 18 attacks and three service aces; while Ale Blanco contributed 18 markers on 15 spikes and three aces; and Alyssa Valdez offered a triple-double on 16 points, 15 excellent digs, and 11 excellent receptions.
After failing to protect its lead in the opening set, Creamline recovered in the second set with an 18-8 start, along with a 20-10 domination in the third, which gave them a 2-1 lead.
PetroGazz showed some urgency in the fourth, taking an 8-3 edge, but Creamline managed to force a 19-all tie with clutch points from Blanco and an error by PetroGazz’ Cherry Nunag sealing the win.
