Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson recently led the turnover of the Kuyong Agricultural Tramline Project, a cable car system located at Sitio Kuyong in Silay City’s Barangay Patag, to the Barangay Patag United Organic Farmers Association.
The project is comprised of an aerial lift spanning 320 lineal meters across the Kuyong Creek at an elevation of 80 meters. The system has reduced travel time for farmers who regularly cross the ravine.
The governor advised farmers to “make good use of the project” and to utilize the system for its main purpose, along with maintaining the project.
Also present for the event were Silay City Mayor Mark Golez; Provincial Board Members Andrew Montelibano and Agustin Ernesto Bascon; Provincial Agriculturist, Atty. Japhet Masculino; Barangay Patag Captain Nonilon Banguanga; Silay City Agriculturist Jason Benedicto; among others./WDJ
