The Petron Blaze Spikers pulled off a 25-18, 25-12, 25-16 sweep over the Generika-Ayala Lifesavers last Tuesday in the 2019 Philippine SuperLiga All-Filipino Conference at the Bacoor Strike Gym in Cavite.
Frances Molina delivered 10 kills, two aces, and 12 points for Petron; while Cherry Rondina notched eight attacks, two aces, a block, and 11 points; Mika Reyes finished with 10 markers, Ilongga hitter Aiza Maizo-Pontillas and Mary Remy Palma scored seven points apiece; Rhea Dimaculangan provided 18 excellent sets; and Ilongga libero Ria Duremdes contributed 11 digs and seven excellent receptions.
“We have been struggling the past few games but—good thing—we’re slowly getting into our real game,” said Petron head coach Ceseal Delos Santos. “Although we’re not yet [at] our 100 percent, we’re already moving well inside the court.”
In the other match, the Foton Tornadoes Blue Energy scored a 25-27, 25-23, 25-20, 25-19 win over the Cignal HD Spikers./ASC, WDJ
