The Iloilo City government recognized 12 West Visayas State University alumni that recently topped the June 2019 nursing licensure examination during a ceremony at Iloilo City Hall earlier this week.
Each beneficiary was awarded a P2,000 cash incentive, medal of excellence, and Mayor’s Citation.
Meanwhile, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) recently allocated P1 million towards the city’s Special Training for Employment Program, which provides technical training in various fields for students from low income households.
“We will be looking for residents who are at least high school graduates or [have completed] an alternative learning system,” explained Public Employment Service Office Manager Mary Grace A. Centino.
Eligible courses include beauty care, nail care, dressmaking, and wellness massage.
The assistance covers training costs, assessment fees, a support fund, entrepreneurial fees, and tool kits./WDJ
