Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) director, Police Colonel Romeo Baleros, said they are not currently monitoring any security threats against Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson. The NOPPO director pointed out, as head of the provincial police, he has a direct responsibility over any incident that may threaten the life of the governor.
Baleros also noted, the governor refused additional security detail aside from the general security plan, which provides armed personnel to secure the governor at the Provincial Capitol and his residence.
Meanwhile, Lacson is scheduled to meet with Baleros, along with mayors from across the province, next week.
The governor also earlier indicated he has no plans to replace Baleros as NOPPO director./DGB, WDJ
