Matter involved allegations of improperly deleted files

After a reported miscommunication occurred during the transition within the Negros Occidental Provincial Legal Office, the matter is said to be resolved. According to Assistant Provincial Legal Officer, Atty. Mary Ann Lamis, “It’s time to move on.”
With incoming Provincial Legal Officer Alberto Nellas, Jr. anticipated to occupy Lamis’ old office, a certain Nellen Marie Gomonit, one of Lamis’ staff members, reportedly deleted files from an office computer. They have since been asked to “show cause,” or explain actions that are deemed inappropriate.
“We occupied the office and, when we move out their equipment and office files, they took out folders and computers,” Nellas explained. “She deleted some files and her manner of interaction was somehow not appropriate.”
“It is an internal matter and no case was filed against her,” he affirmed.
Reports also claimed certain paperwork and documents were moved from Lamis’ table ahead of the transition.
“We just cleaned out everything to give way [for] new records.” Lamis explained. “We just removed things [we] were working on.”
“There was nothing malicious,” she added. “We have nothing to hide.”
Meanwhile, while Nellas said the matter regarding offices was discussed during a June 4 meeting, Lamis insisted she was never informed of the said meeting./DGB, WDJ
