Two minor earthquakes were detected in Negros Occidental yesterday morning.
A 2.1-magnitude tremor struck north of Manapla around 2:15 a..m.; while a 2.3-magnitude quake was recorded south of Candoni just before 10:00 a.m.
Subsequent Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology bulletins reported no damages nor were there aftershocks expected.
Quakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli Intensity Scale, where the tremor goes almost undetected.
Last month, a 2.1-magnitude earthquake was detected just north of Candoni./WDJ
