Yulo: Talks delayed due to Serafica absence
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
Nearly 200 Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) contractual workers and job order employees may lose their jobs as the board has yet to act on their contracts. After affected employees met with SRA Board Member Emilio Yulo III yesterday, the administration official said the board has yet to make a decision on the matter.
Yulo explained, the board was supposed to take up the issue last week but failed to reach a quorum due to the absence of SRA administrator Hermenegildo Serafica.
He added, only three members are needed to make quorum.
The SRA official stressed the importance of the workers, calling them “crucial to the operation of the SRA.”
Worker salaries range from P10,000 to P40,000./DGB, WDJ
