Barangay Ginebra defeats Alaska in the Commissioner’s Cup

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel recently scored a 118-106 win over the Alaska Aces in the 2019 Honda PBA Commissioner’s Cup last Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Justin Brownlee and Stanley Pringle each fired off 27 points for Barangay Ginebra, while Japeth Aguilar and LA Tenorio each contributed 22 points.
After an early back-and-forth, Barangay Ginebra built a 57-52 lead heading into the break on conversions from Brownlee, Earl Scottie Thompson, and Aljon Mariano.
Alaska kept the game competitive on the onset of the third period and were down by one point, 75-74; however, Barangay Ginebra then went on a run behind Brownlee and Pringle for an 86-76 edge.
Alaska managed to take a 91-90 lead early in the fourth period but Barangay Ginebra, through hits by Brownlee, pulled ahead to a 100-95 lead. Consecutive triples from Tenorio then widened the lead to 118-106./ASC, WDJ
