Bacolod falls to Makati in the Maharlika League

Bacolod Master Sardines suffered an 84-74 defeat to Makati Super Crunch in the ongoing Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Lakan Cup last night at the San Juan Arena.
Bacolod had a strong start and went up 18-12 on triples from Jopher Custodio but Makati responded with a run in the second frame as they limited their foes to six points.
Makati’s lead extended to as high as 13 points in the third period but the Bacolodnon side rallied behind Custodio and Pao Javelona to trim the deficit to 61-56 heading into the fourth.
In the fourth quarter, Bacolod narrowed the gap to 77-74 after a Javelona triple but baskets from Cedric Ablaza, Joseph Sedurifa, and Jeckster Apinan increased Makati’s lead back to 10 points.
Sedurifa finished the match with 20 points, while Ablaza and Apinan scored 14 and 13 markers, respectively.
Meanwhile, Custodio top-scored for Bacolod with 23 points, including seven triples; while Javelona added 21 markers, including five outside hits.
