Outgoing Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. yesterday delivered his State of the Province report before provincial government employees, department heads, and local officials at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center, where he touted his achievements over the past nine years.
The governor discussed his Negros First Development Agenda, which includes initiatives pertaining to natural resource management, economic development, good govenance, poverty reduction, and working towards “optimum” healthcare.
He also lauded the province’s 97 percent rice sufficiency.
Marañon included a mention of the short-lived Negros Island Region, which he said “gave us a glimpse of what we can achieve together as one region.”/DGB, WDJ
