A 62-year-old man was declared dead late Sunday night after he was struck by multiple vehicles along Araneta Street in Bacolod City’s Barangay Sum-ag.
Police identified the fatality as Eduardo Enriquez, a resident of Purok Magayon in the said barangay.
Police Station 9 (PS9) commander, Police Captain Jun Rey Batadlan, said, based on closed-circuit television footage from a nearby establishment, Enriquez was crossing the street when he was struck by a motorcycle, run over by a bus, and struck again by a tricycle.
The victim was killed on the spot due to a fatal head injury.
Batadlan said the driver of the bus, identified as 38-year-old Regie Lejarso, surrendered to PS9 yesterday morning and may face vehicular manslaughter charges.
The victim’s family, meanwhile, are appealing for the involved motorcyclist and tricycle operator to also surrender./DGB, WDJ
