De La Salle University (DLSU) will meet San Beda University in the 2019 Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup. DLSU defeated Lyceum of the Philippines University, 82-80, in the semifinals; while San Beda scored a 75-70 victory over Adamson University in their clash.
Justine Baltazar delivered a double-double for DLSU with 22 points and 22 rebounds. With the game ties 78-78, he broke the deadlock with free throws before the eventual finalists pulled ahead to 81-78 on a split free throw from Ralph Cu.
Lyceum closed the gap to 81-80 on a basket by Reymar Caduyac; however, they mishandled a chance to take the game.
In the other semifinal, defending champions San Beda broke a 70-70 tie with Calvin Oftana serving up a booming triple with 1:08 left in the game. Adamson went on to commit back-to-back turnovers, allowing for San Beda to seal the win on free throws by James Canlas./ASC, WDJ
