The Negros Occidental Provincial Board has two more regular sessions left on its calendar. According to Provincial Board secretary, Atty. Maki Angela Ascalon, the current body has sessions scheduled for tomorrow, June 19, and June 26.
She noted, the final session will be a “reference of business” with regard to the turnover from outgoing Negros Occidental vice governor, Governor-elect Eugenio Jose Lacson, to Vice Governor-elect Jeffrey Ferrer.
Ascalon also pointed out, committee assignments will be done by July 2, when Ferrer presides over his first session.
Traditionally, committee chairmanships are discussed among board members but internal rules require an election. However, during the inaugural session, rules are suspended and the vice governor has the authority to directly designate assignments./DGB, WDJ
