Property developer Megaworld Corporation, the company behind the 34-hectare Upper East Township project in Bacolod City, recently announced they plan to open six more townships through 2020. Five of them are located in Luzon, while one is in Mindanao.
Once completed, the company will have constructed a total of 30 townships across the country, including the Iloilo Business Park in Iloilo City’s Mandurriao district.
Last month, Megaworld announced the construction of a P1.2 billion lifestyle mall within the Bacolod City township project.
Megaworld Chief Strategy Officer Kevin Tan said the mall’s design will be highlighted by a 48-meter tall clock tower, calling it a “major landmark” along the six-lane avenue of the township, which will stretch from Lopez Jaena Street to Circumferential Road.
Tan went on to characterize the mall as “an architectural masterpiece that depicts the cosmopolitan vibe of the Bacolod City township.”
“This is just the first mall that we are building in this township because there is still more room for future expansion,” he added./DGB, WDJ
