A six-month-old baby drowned early yesterday morning after falling into a pail at the Libertad Public Market in Bacolod City.
Police have requested anonymity for the victim and their family but confirmed the family operates a vegetable shop along the Lizares Extension area of the market.
Based on a statement provided by the victim’s mother to Police Station 6, she, her husband, and their other two-year-old son were sleeping at the time of the incident and failed to notice the baby fell off from their crib and landed in a pail of water.
The victim was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment but was declared dead on arrival by hospital staff./DGB, WDJ
