The Magnolia Hotshots cruised to their second straight win in the ongoing 2019 Honda PBA Commissioner’s Cup after their 110-103 takedown of the Columbian Dyip last night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Ian Sangalang and James Farr each scored 22 points for Magnolia, with Paul Lee adding 21 markers and Jio Jalalon falling short of triple-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists.
The Hotshots got to an early start and were up by as much as nine points but the Dyip turned things around in the second and earned a 50-45 edge. However, Magnolia went on to tie the score at 52-all.
The Dyip were still on top midway in the third period when the Hotshots came up with a huge run from Lee, Farr, and Sangalang to establish an 85-73 lead heading into the fourth.
The Dyip pulled to within single digits several times in the fourth period but the Hotshots kept offering answers to maintain their advantage./ASC, WDJ
