“…See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the LORD your God will bless you… But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient… I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed…” –Deuteronomy 30:15-18
Why are foreigners inflicting abuse and heavy-handed behavior against Filipinos? Why does it seem that God is just allowing it to happen? While God is instilled with love and mercy for those who profess their faith in Him, He is also just a god. In God’s great love, mercy, and omnipotence, rules and regulations on how man must accept His love, mercy, blessings, guidance, and protection are established. According to the Bible, man is to receive God’s love and prosperity only after they listen and obey His word. To those who do not listen nor obey His commands, or who display half-hearted obedience, they will suffer curses.
With all that is happening to Filipinos today, there is no doubt as to why many are experiencing God’s curses.
How is it President Rodrigo Duterte and the Department of Foreign Affairs secretary were not immediately informed about the Chinese military vessel deliberately ramming a fishing boat carrying 22 Filipino fishermen last Sunday? Many would claim they were, in fact, informed of the situation; however, why was there no reaction from the president? Is Duterte trying to avoid derailing cordial relations with China? Perhaps he is fully aware there would be no benefit in complaining since the Chinese are for more superior militarily.
Whatever the reason, I am reminded of warnings in the Bible surrounding the infliction of suffering and abuse by foreigners.
From my experience with the Children of God Blood Kin of the Christ Church, or the Simbahang Anak ng Diyos Kadugo Ni Kristo (AND KNK), it has been prophesied that many will be made to undergo hardship and difficulties, as well as abuse, at the hands of foreigners. Foreigners were predicted to make life more difficult and dangerous for people in their own lands.
Deuteronomy 28:33-36, 43-44, and 48-52 describe the abuses foreigners will heap upon others. Studying these verses carefully, it reveals what AND KNK has been illustration, that abuses by foreigners would not be simple acts but ones that could endanger the lives of victims.
