The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod recently approved a resolution urging the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) to reverse its decision to cut funding to a medical assistance program for low-income patients.
According to the resolution, penned by outgoing Bacolod City Councilor Caesar Distrito, funding for the said program was cut from P211,200 to P133,056.
The resolution called it “unjust” for those who utilize the program.
With regard to the said patients, the resolution stated, “They will really have a hard time finding means to cover their medical needs.”
Meanwhile, the reallocation saw CLMMRH receive an increase in annual funding as a means of accommodating for more low-income patients./WDJ
