Bacolod City athletes win medals at karate competitions in South Korea

Two Bacolod City athletes triumphed at karate competitions in South Korea, winning medals at the 31st Busan Mayor’s Cup and the 12th Korea Open International Karatedo Championship, which recently took place in the city of Busan.
The two Bacolodnons won in the kumite division, where athletes spar utilizing particular techniques and skills.
Juan Miguel Sebastian Jadie won gold in the U-13 male individual division, while Caizera Margaux Maraňon captured bronze on the ladies’ side.
Other medalists in the kumite contest included Kyro Charlz Mayugba, who won silver in the cadet male individual division; and Karl Corvin Mayugba, who won bronze in the 10-year-old individual division.
Meanwhile, in the kata competition, which presents specific movement patterns and choreography, Mayugba won bronze in the 10-year-old individual division and Emanuel Jesus Sagun took bronze in the senior male individual competition./ASC, WDJ
