Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) director, Police Brigadier General John Bulalacao, is expected to step down from his post and retire on June 26, when he celebrates his 56th birthday. The PRO-6 director arrived in Bacolod City yesterday morning for farewell visits to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and Bacolod City Police Office.
During an interview with various media, he refused to tout accomplishments during his tenure and said he will leave judgment to local residents.
“If I go to them one-by-one, I might say something that would be distasteful to those who I’ve clashed with,” Bulalacao explained.
Although he did acknowledge his “presence was definitely felt.”
In terms of a replacement, Bulalacao said he has yet to receive communication from Philippine National Police headquarters as to who will succeed him as regional director.
When asked if he plans on entering politics after he retires, Bulalacao laughed it off and said his current priority is to rest as well as spend more time with his family, pointing out, he has lost time with them due to the job.
As a farewell message to the region’s police officers, Bulalacao advised them to protect the service’s reputation as there is always a time for reckoning./DGB, WDJ
