Escalante City native James Yap, who plays for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, is hoping the groin injury that sidelined him during their recent game against the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters, where the Painters won 89-82, is only minor.
“‘Di ko na lang pinilit dahil baka mapunit e; na-feel ko talaga ‘pag pinilit ko pa mapupunit talaga (I just don’t want to force it because it might tear; I feel if I push it, it will really tear),” he said. “Sana rest lang ito (I should just rest it).”
“Before the game nararamdaman ko na ‘yung quads ko medyo tight so nagii-stretching ako ng quads (Before the game, I felt a tightness in my quads, so I made sure to stretch them),” the Negrense player added. “‘Di ko alam ba’t biglang sumakit tong groin (I don’t know why but there was a sudden pain in my groin).”
Yap had his injury checked yesterday and he plans on putting in extra work to be ready for their next game on June 19./ASC, WDJ
