Cadiz City native Renz Rosia will fight for the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) flyweight championship later this month, when he challenges Arnold Garde on June 28 at the Maco Municipal Gym in Maco, Compostela Valley.
The Negrense boxer is looking to end a losing streak; most recently falling via unanimous decision to Ponciano Remandiman in their Philippine Visayas Professional Boxing Association super flyweight title fight last April at Parkmall in Mandaue City, Cebu.
“Hindi ko alam kung ano pa ang kulang dahil ibinigay ko na ang lahat pero ganun talaga ang boxing (I don’t know what was missing because I gave everything but that’s boxing),” he said after the fight. “Siguro kailangan ko pang pagbutihin sa practice para sa susunod panalo na (I probably need to improve practicing so I will win the next one).”
In addition, he previously suffered losses to Genesis Libranza in the Philippine Games and Amusements Board flyweight championships last October and Jakkrawut Majoogoen of Thailand in their April 2018 fight for the Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation silver super flyweight title.
Rosia enters the fight with a 14-8-1 win-loss-draw ring record with seven stoppage wins, while Garde carries a 10-7-3 record, including four knockout victories./ASC, WDJ
