Philippines loses international football matches

The Philippine men’s national football team, the Azkals, and the national under-22 men’s football squad both suffered defeats last Friday. The Azkals lost 2-0 to China in a friendly match at the Tianhe Stadium in Guangzhou, China; while the Under-22 squad lost 3-0 to Singapore in the 2019 Merlion Cup at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore.
The Chinese side scored one goal in each half. In the second, the Azkals were down to 10 after defender Daisuke Sato was shown a red card and ejected from the match.
For the Singaporean side, Irfan Fandi scored a hat trick for the home team.
The Under-22 squad next plays Indonesia in the consolation match./ASC, WDJ
