PetroGazz Angels extended their undefeated streak in the ongoing 2019 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference to 5-0 following their recent 25-12, 29-27, 25-15 sweep of the PacificTown-Army Lady Troopers over the weekend at the San Juan Arena.
Wilma Salas led the win with 27 points, including six service aces; while Janisa Johnson had 22 markers built on 17 spikes, three blocks, and two aces.
The Angels built an 18-4 edge in the first set, which led to an easy 1-0 set edge. The Lady Troopers then took a 22-17 edge in the second but the Angels leaned on Salas and Johnson to turn things around.
In the third set, the Angels earned a nine-point lead at match point before Johnson delivered an ace to maintain their clean slate without dropping a set.
Meanwhile, the defending champion Creamline Cool Smashers scored a 13-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-23 victory over the Motolite Power Builders./ASC, WDJ
