Lacson: NOCHP will proceed until healthcare systems are free

By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga

Incoming Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said he would continue the Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program (NOCHP), which currently boasts 300,000 member-families.
He affirmed the program would remain until Point-of-Care, a scheme set up by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and the Universal Health Care Program are free for patients undergoing various procedures.
The governor-elect called the provincial system a “last recourse” as it offers additional payments to cover what national healthcare programs are unable to provide for.
NOCHP was started by the provincial government in 2010./DGB, WDJ
