Negros Occidental Governor-elect Eugenio Jose Lacson has named his transition team, which will coordinate with the office of outgoing Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr.
Based on documents signed by Lacson and forwarded to the governor’s office, he named incoming Provincial Legal Officer, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, as his chairperson. Also on the team are Attys. Jose Jonathan Ealdama, Kirk Andrew Magnabe, Julie Ann Bedrio, and Pacifico Maghari III; Ismael Penado; and Jonathan Lobaton.
Earlier, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Negros Occidental reminded both incoming and outgoing elected officials to form transition teams, which is a requirement before newly-elected officials can take office.
According to DILG-Negros Occidental director, Engr. Carmelo Orbista, due to the ongoing recount, officials in Isabela have yet to submit a report to their office.
Newly-elected officials are expected to assume office on June 30./DGB, WDJ
