A 2.1-magnitude earthquake was detected south of Basay yesterday afternoon.
According to reports, the tremor struck around 3:26 p.m.
A subsequent Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology bulletin reported no damages nor were there aftershocks expected for the Negros Oriental town.
Quakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli Intensity Scale, where the tremor goes almost undetected./WDJ
