La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan plans to file libel charges against the individual behind leaflets distributed prior to the recent midterm elections. She characterized the materials as “black propaganda.”
Atty. Cesar Beloria, the mayor’s legal counsel, said a certain Reynaldo dela Torre maligned her and her family’s name.
He also claimed the mayor’s rights as a woman were violated.
Dela Torre was earlier arrested by La Castellana municipal police and has since admitted to coordinating with her opponent in the mayor’s race, former Vice Mayor Felix Feria IV.
Nicor-Mangilimutan said she has yet to file charges as she is hoping the guilty parties show remorse for their actions./DGB, WDJ
