Much like the highly-touted floating restaurants that operate along the Loboc River in Bohol, Bacolod City administrator, Atty. John Orola, recently revealed a similar operation will soon set up along the Sum-ag River.
He explained, the floating restaurant will sail between Barangays Sum-ag, Cabug, and Punta Taytay. One of the stop include on the trip includes entertainment by the local Gawad Kalinga community in Sum-ag, along with a presentation of local delicacies and various services.
The city official said additional stops are still in the works.
Despite acknowledging other floating restaurants operating throughout the country, Orola insisted, “This project will be the first of its kind.”
The project, which is being coordinated with the Maritime Industry Authority, is expecting to launch their maiden voyage either by Bacolod City’s Charter Day celebration, June 18, or the San Juan Festival, June 23./DGB, WDJ
