Ceres FC blanks Philippine Air Force FC, 5-0

Ceres-Negros FC notched their first win in the ongoing 2019 Philippines Football League with a 5-0 win over Philippine Air Force FC last Wednesday at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium. Midfielder Bienvenido Marañón and striker Curt Dizon scored for the Bacolod City-based club with the former earning a hat trick and the latter picking up a brace.
The Negrense club opened scoring in the 15th minute with a goal from Marañón. The score would remain 1-0 throughout the first half.
Into the second half, Dizon doubled the lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 52nd minute. However, an altercation between Geve Cadiz of Air Force FC and Ceres midfielder OJ Porteria occurred in the 67th minute, resulting in both players being ejected. At this point, Air Force was down to nine as midfielder Antonio Albor, Jr. had been sent off earlier in the match.
Marañón scored his second goal in the 76th minute, which was shortly followed by Dizon’s second in the 80th.
The midfielder secured his hat trick two minute later, putting the Negrense club up 5-0.
In the other match, Christian Zubiri scored the decisive goal in Green Archers United’s 1-0 win over Global Makati FC./ASC, WDJ
