The Alaska Aces kept the NLEX Road Warriors winless in the 2019 Honda PBA Commissioner’s Cup with a 100-87 win last Wednesday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Jeron Teng led the win with a double-double on 20 points and a career-high 15 rebounds; while Chris Daniels chipped in 17 markers, 12 boards, and three blocks.
The Road Warriors remained within striking distance of the Aces until six straight points from Teng and Jvee Casio ignited a huge run for Alaska in the second half of the game, resulting in a game-high 19-point lead.
“That’s really how we want to play on the offensive side,” said Aces head coach Alex Compton. “On defense, there were stretches where we were much better; there were stretches where we gave them easy baskets.”/ASC, WDJ
