NorthPort beats TNT, remains undefeated in the Commissioner’s Cup

A huge second half pushed NorthPort Batang Pier to a 110-86 win over TNT KaTropa last night, maintaining the team’s undefeated record in the ongoing 2019 Honda PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Stanley Pringle made a triumphant return to NorthPort with 22 points on five triples, Robert Bolick scored 21, and Prince Ibeh added 22.
KaTropa surged to an 18-10 start on eight straight points from Roger Pogoy but Batang Pier cut their deficit to 26-25. TNT pulled away anew to 32-25 in the second period but NorthPort rallied to come within 44-43 at the half.
Both teams traded leads early in the third with KaTropa taking a 63-59 lead before the Batang Pier went on a barrage of triples from Pringle, Moala Tautuaa, and Garvo Lanete for a 77-65 edge.
Batang Pier pulled away for good in the fourth period with triples from Pringle and Lanete, along with Bolick hitting from inside, for their largest lead of 110-84 on baskets from Ibeh and Joseph Gabayni./ASC, WDJ
