Bacolod City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran and Barangay Singcang-Airport Captain Rosinie Distrito condemned yesterday morning’s killing of a pedicab driver in Barangay Singcang-Airport.
The two local officials are calling on authorities to conduct a thorough investigation in order to identify the assailants.
According to an investigation by Police Station 8 (PS8), the victim, identified as 43-year-old Rodelio Camento, was a high value-target drug personality.
They also noted, the suspect had previously refused to surrender under “Oplan: Tokhang.”
Camento was killed inside his home and sustained gunshot wounds to his back, head, and waist. He was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Regional Hospital for treatment but was declared dead by the attending physician.
Police consider the motive behind the shooting as “drug-related.”
