The Department of Public Works and Highways-Region VI (DPWH-6) recently revealed Lea N. Delfinado has been appointed director for the regional office.
Prior to the appointment, Antonio Molano, Jr. was serving as both DPWH assistant secretary and regional director.
Delfinado vowed to take on more high-impact infrastructure projects in the region.
Among the projects currently on the table include the 41-kilometer Panay East-West Lateral Road, which will connect Antique, Iloilo, and Capiz.
Last month, DPWH-6 assistant director Al Fruto said the project, which has a budget of P2.6 billion, is expected to be completed “within five years.”
As of last reporting, the project was said to be approximately 20 percent complete.
Prior to the DPWH-6 appointment, Delfinado served as assistant DPWH-6 director; DPWH-Negros Island Region officer-in-charge; DPWH-Bureau of Design director; along with posts at the Guimaras District Engineering Office, and the Negros Occidental 1st and 2nd District Engineering Offices./WDJ
