The Negros Occidental provincial government revealed they are now beginning the process of vacating the Provincial Administration Center (PAC) in order to make way for the construction of a new mixed-use building. However, Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. earlier issued a memorandum to various department heads advising them to clear out the PAC by April 30.
Once vacated, Dynamic Builders and Construction Company Inc. will start construction on the said mixed-use building, which is worth P1.7 billion. In addition, they will also construct a new PAC building worth P900 million.
Amid the construction, acting Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator, Dr. Lucille Gelvolea, called for consideration and understanding from the public.
“These are a little inconveniences in exchange for changes in two-to-three years, which will be more [accessibility] and good ambience for the public,” she explained.
Gelvolea said the construction on the two structures will be simultaneous, with an expected completion time of three years./DGB, WDJ
