Ginebra rallies to beat Meralco in the Commissioner’s Cup

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel turned things around in the second half to score a come-from-behind 110-95 victory over Meralco Bolts last Sunday in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Justin Brownlee flirted with a triple-double on 27 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists; while Japeth Aguilar scored 19 points; Arthur dela Cruz added 16; and Solomon Mercado chipped in 14.
Trailing 54-43 at the half, Ginebra opened the second half with 12-0 run behind Aguilar and Mercado to take a 55-54 lead. Ginebra extended their advantage to 82-71 with baskets from Brownlee and Gregory Slaughter.
The Bolts opened the fourth quarter with eight straight points to get to within 82-79 but Ginebra offered a quick answer from Brownlee and Aguilar to increase their lead to 100-85.
The Bolts made their last push to cut the deficit to 100-92 but three-pointers from Mercado and Aguilar increased Ginebra’s lead to 108-92, their largest of the game./ASC, WDJ
