Three earthquakes were recorded in the general vicinity over the weekend.
The first tremor occurred early Saturday morning, around 1:09 a.m., when a 2.4-magnitude quake was detected south of Siaton, Negros Oriental; while, that afternoon, a 3.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded just before 5:35 p.m. near Anini-y, Antique.

According to subsequent Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology bulletins, no damages were reported nor were there aftershocks expected.
Quakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli Intensity Scale, where the tremor goes almost undetected; meanwhile, earthquakes that range between 3.0 and 3.9 in magnitude are considered between a Level II and III, where a few people feel the tremor, particularly those on the upper floors of buildings./WDJ
