Ceres-Negros FC opened their 2019 Philippines Football League title defense with a 2-2 draw with Stallion-Laguna FC over the weekend at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
Stallion-Laguna striker Abou Mouhamed Sy opened scoring in the 6th minute, which was quickly followed by an equalizer from defender Martin Steuble.
In the 28th minute, the Negrense club committed an own goal, giving Laguna an advantage. However, Ceres midfielder Bienvenido Marañón salvaged a draw, making it 2-2 off a pass from fellow midfielder Stephan Schröck.
In the other match, Kaya FC-Iloilo dominated Green Archers United, 4-0. Striker Jordan Mintah scored a hat trick, while Jayson Panhay added the fourth./ASC, WDJ
