Following the “Spiderman” incident that took place during the 2019 Honda PBA Philippine Cup finals earlier this month, where a court invader dressed in a Spiderman costume and interrupted Game 5, the PBA has since suspended San Miguel Beermen players Ronald Tubid and Kelly Nabong for their role in the event.
Tubid, who is originally from Iloilo City, was seen punching the court invader, identified as a certain Paolo Felizarta; while Nabong punched a man he mistakenly assumed was Felizarta’s accomplice.
According to PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial, the pair will be suspended from the Beermen’s first three games of the ongoing 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
They were also each fined P75,000.
In addition, Beermen assistant team manager Daniel Henares and Dr. Ramon Ibanez were each fined P50,000 and suspended for two games.
Following the incident, Felizarta and two companions were brought before police. They were eventually brought up on unjust vexation, along with alarm and scandal, charges./ASC, WDJ
