The Iloilo City Government Children’s Learning Center will be holding an open house tomorrow, May 24, which will feature arts and crafts produced by the students.
All of the displays will be crafted from repurposed garbage.
“It will showcase the arts made of recyclable garbage we gathered from different offices,” explained supervisor Mary Ann Ramos. “We believe that trash can be reused and converted into cash.”
According to Ramos, all funds collected will be put towards the purchase of children’s learning books and equipment.
She added, the next batch of crafts are expected to be sourced from waste coming from the General Services Office and Iloilo City Environment and Natural Resources.
During this year’s Iloilo-Guimaras Paraw Regatta, the miniature paraw-making contest required entries be constructed of indigenous and recyclable materials./WDJ
